Black Bridge

Black Bridge is a century old 166-metre long high-level rail bridge that is part of the Waterford Heritage Trail, the TransCanada Trail, and connects to Delhi, Port Dover, Simcoe, Brantford, Cambridge and Hamilton trails.

Black Bridge looks out onto panoramic views of the Waterford Ponds to the west, and the small, picturesque downtown area to the east. The bridge was retrofitted specifically to connect the two ends of the Waterford Heritage trail and features a decked surface, guard rails and three overlook points.

Black Bridge Revitalization

On June 10, 2012, we celebrated the connection of Norfolk County and Brant County trails. The Mayors of Brant and Norfolk Counties met for a handshake at Jenkins Road followed by the grand opening of Black Bridge with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event was very well attended – our community is proud of their trail!
